Project description
PollTrack Survey Company runs several offices in the United States and has its
headquarters located at the heart on New York City. The PollTrack Survey Company started
back in the year 2016 and since then it has substantially grown and expanded. The expansion and
growth have seen it opening up more offices, hiring more employees and increasing its customer
base as well. The company seems to be prospering in quick succession and greater future lies
ahead.
The PollTrack Survey Company as the name suggests offers survey services. This
implies that the company assists client firms and individuals constitute survey and undertake the
same sourcing data to found decision making. The company assist clients craft surveys
(questionnaires) and administer the same one behave of the clients. The company then collects
respondents’ responses and tabulates the same for analysis to guide in decision making. The
company has to deploy the traditional survey approach in collecting data from the audience. The
increased demand for the company has seen it increasing her workforce to current 200
employees who administer surveys and engage respondents to source data for analysis.
POLLTRACK SYSTEM

The traditional survey approach which is manual based has been deemed ineffective due
to the following problems that define it;
❖ Time-consuming and expensive, the manual based survey is not only time consuming but
also expensive for the researcher can administer only a few questionnaires at a time, and
has to travel from place to place to reach the respondents. Also, the production of the
questionnaires, travel cost, etc, make the manual based survey expensive.
❖ Too short response time, due to limitations such availability time by the researchers, the
researcher tends to administer questionnaires within a short time over numerous
respondents at a certain geographical location and more to next. Therefore, researchers
tend to limit the time for respondents to enable them to reach more people in different
locations in approximate time.
❖ Error at data entry, typically, the manual based survey lacks the capability to validate the
data been entered hence the possibility of error by respondents who given information for
the seek/tend to be ignorant.
❖ Limits data collection to certain geographical location and time constraint. Basically, the
population extends throughout the country, it is practically impossible to administer the
questionnaire and interviews throughout the country. Hence the current manual based
survey is limited to geographical location and temporal barriers.
❖ The current system has complaints of too much paperwork for the process involves the
use of questionnaires. These papers have to be carried to the intent respondent resident,
administered, collected, carried to where the data is to be tabulated and analyzed. The

papers are prone to lose any possibility of poor handling which impacts the integrity of
the survey.
This has necessitated for PollTrack system to solve the defined problems by establishing a
platform that facilitates the same in an automated manner while building on effectiveness and
efficiency.
Problem statement
Indisputably, the Americans have been engaged in countless surveys from time to time by
respective survey-based bodies within the country. For instance, PollTrack Survey Company has
been engaging Americans in a couple of survey political based. Eventually, it is evident that the
PollTrack Survey Company, however, engage Americans into manual based survey process
constituting sample survey bodies exploiting the manual process. The survey involved sending
the researchers to the selected towns within the states. The researchers who oversaw the survey
administered questions to the respondents either directly through interviews and administering
questionnaires to respond to the same. The researchers then collect the respondents’ viewers for
tabulation and analysis which is then represented in a manner which is easy to interpret such as
in percentages and graphs. The results of the survey are they used to provide the public
perception of something which triggers certain prospected action by the target body Besides,
companies have as well explored manual survey process which is not only ineffective but also,
inefficiency as well given the several barriers realized with the deployment of the same.
Therefore, there have been a number of issues the PollTrack system has been developed to solve
includes; establishment of effective and efficient survey tool that is not limited certain
geographical location, temporal barriers and cost time constraint.

Benefits
The PollTrack System is deemed to be a justifiable research project for the following
benefits;
❖ Result in cost leadership given that the company needs not to employ more
researchers to administer questionnaires, conduct interviews or observe
respondents in the quest to collect the data given that the system will replace their
role.
❖ Eliminate the temporal and geographical barriers which are landmark issues in the
manual based survey. For the survey, participators can be engaged in survey
irrespective of their geographical locations and temporal barriers contrary to the
manual process. Also, the PollTrack System is online web-based applications
which means can be accessed from anywhere at any time provide on can access
the internet.
❖ Keep a check on the data entry to ensure accuracy through the implementation of
the various validation checks. For the validation checks and feedback prompts
gives the respondent guiding framework to respond to the survey appropriate
while giving the correct response.
❖ Eliminate extensive papers work by replacing the same with online platform
serving the same purpose. Hence the proposed system is less tedious given that it
eliminates paperwork, which involves lots of work in handling them.
❖ Effective and efficient as it allows the respondents to respond per their individual
preferences in terms of response time. For the system has standardized assigned

too long.
